Life as a Manager

Paradise Gone:(

What Have I learned in 2 months.
1. I've never really been a manager and feel like I need to go back to school.
2. I really don't like managing because I end up with little children instead of workers.
3. I have a strange boss.

I haven't figured out why he has not fired me yet but I'm not going to complain.

I promoted a different Front Desk Supervisor. Part Good part not. The old one was demoted. She is now taking it better than I thought she would.
The B Manager does not like my maintanence man. Old regionals told B stuff about him being lazy and now he is out to get him. B just can't believe that once in a while M listens. I do have my concerns though.

I'm starting to question what I want to do with the rest of my life. I am now thinking of taking a real estate course. It is not very expensive and even if I don't go through with becoming one it will help me in selling my house. I'm starting to think it is time for me to change careers.
I have worked 50-60 hours each week for almost a month. This is the first evening in a long time I have had the opportunity to even write. I don't know how much longer I'll last.

Hey Misty! So glad to see you still alive! I was getting a bit worried. Sorry to hear you're being over worked. As to being a real estate agent, Jon gave that a try years ago. He got through all the classes, but found it really hard to find people. He had a desk/phone at an agency, but sitting through open houses can be boring. Also, when Jon and I were loking for a house, we found that there seemed to be tons of agents. Probably more people jumped into real estate during the "housing bubble". But good luck, it might fit with you! (aint I just a joy)

Misty,

Think about what you WANT to do w/ ur life, not what is convenient at the time. Taking real estate classes may be cheap, but it may also be a waste of time & energy. Find something you'd really enjoy doing (working with animals??) & go do it!
